Works just like it is supposed to. I have not used it in the field but in local testing, using both the "check in" and the "tracking" modes it is working exactly right. It pin-points the location to within a few feet for check-in's and these were tested in overcast conditions from a house window. The track was done from a car and these worked as advertised. In summary, I am impressed and will be using it for cross country paraglider flights. G.

We bought the SPOT for our backpacking trips and it worked great. We also found it is a great asset for our 12 year old to take to school. We live in a very poor cell phone area so it is a real bonus for us.
He pushes OK to let us know he is fine and then pushes HELP when he needs a ride home.

One push of the OK button sends a text message to a pre-programmed cell phone to let a loved one know that you are fine and also gives your GPS position.
In trouble press the HELP button and the same loved one can come to collect you from the location displayed.
Injured, trapped, involved in an accident then push the 911 button and the monitoring center will dispatch emergency services to your location.
